The role involves designing various types of press tools like blanking, piercing, forming, and bending dies, as well as progressive and multi-slide tools. Responsibilities may also include component feasibility studies, quoting tool costs, and designing die layouts. Designing progressive and multi-slide press tools for efficient production. Utilizing software like Unigraphics/NX, SolidEdge, or CATIA for design and detailing.
Skills and Qualifications:
Engineering Degree:
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.CAD Software Expertise:
Proficiency in software like Unigraphics/NX, SolidEdge, or CATIA is essential.Sheet Metal Design:
Knowledge of sheet metal design principles and manufacturing processes.Tool Design Experience:
Experience in designing various types of press tools, including blanking, piercing, forming, and bending dies.Problem-Solving:
Ability to analyze design challenges and develop effective solutions.Communication Skills:
