The Pre-Primary Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for young children (ages 3-6). The role includes planning age-appropriate lessons, fostering social and emotional development, ensuring physical well-being, and supporting foundational literacy, numeracy, and motor skills.
Key Responsibilities
1. Classroom Teaching & Learning
Plan and deliver interactive, child-centric lessons based on the curriculum.
Use creative methods (stories, play, music, art, movement) to teach concepts.
Introduce early literacy and numeracy skills through engaging activities.
Encourage curiosity, exploration, and hands-on learning.
2. Child Development & Well-Being
Observe, assess, and record the developmental progress of each child.
Support social, emotional, and behavioral development through positive guidance.
Ensure the safety, hygiene, and well-being of children at all times.
Manage classroom routines such as snack time, outdoor play, and rest periods.
3. Classroom Management
Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating environment.
Prepare teaching aids, materials, and displays.
Establish age-appropriate rules and a positive learning atmosphere.
4. Parent Engagement
Communicate regularly with parents about student progress, milestones, and concerns.
Participate in parent-teacher meetings, school events, and workshops.
5. Collaboration & Professional Development
Work closely with co-teachers and support staff.
Participate in training sessions, curriculum planning, and school development activities.
Follow school policies, safety guidelines, and reporting protocols.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in B.ed / ECCEd or equivalent.
Proven experience working with children aged 3-6 (preferred).
Strong communication, patience, and child-handling skills.
