Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Instruction:
Implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that promotes social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth in young children
Organize daily activities that stimulate learning through play, music, art, stories, and hands-on experiences
Incorporate diverse learning styles to cater to individual needs and abilities of children
Classroom Management:
Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment
Use positive reinforcement to guide behavior and maintain a supportive atmosphere
Establish clear routines and expectations to help children feel secure and confident
Social and Emotional Development:
Foster an environment of respect, kindness, and cooperation
Support children in building positive relationships with peers and teachers
Assist children in resolving conflicts and promoting empathy and self-regulation skills
Health and Safety:
Ensure the classroom and outdoor areas of the school premises are safe and clean
Adhere to all safety and health regulations to ensure the well-being of the children
Monitor children's health and report any concerns to parents and school administration
Collaboration:
Work closely with other teachers, support staff, and school administrators to enhance the learning environment
Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities to stay current with early childhood education best practices
Parental Communication:
Establish and maintain a strong line of communication with parents to discuss their child's progress, needs, and any concerns
Encourage parental involvement through volunteer opportunities, events, and workshops
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field (required)
Teaching certification in Early Childhood Education (preferred)
Experience:
Previous experience working with children in a preschool or early childhood setting (preferred)
Knowledge of child development and early childhood educational practices
Skills and Abilities:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Patience, creativity, and a genuine love for working with children
Ability to work collaboratively in a school environment
Organizational skills and ability to manage a classroom effectively
Basic understanding of child health and safety regulations
Ability to handle and care young children from the age of 6+ months
Working Conditions:
Full-time in person at the school premises
Being available on occasional evenings or weekends for parent meetings or school events
Physical requirements include the ability to sit on the floor, engage in activities with young children and being high on energy
