Preschool Educator - Roles & Responsibilities

Location

: Birla Open Minds Preschool, Rajkot

Grades

: Playgroup, Nursery, KG1, KG2 & Daycare

Key Responsibilities

1. Classroom Teaching & Learning

Plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons based on preschool curriculum.

Create engaging, creative, and hands-on learning experiences.

Teach foundational concepts - language, numbers, phonics, sensory, pre-writing, EVS.

Conduct circle time, rhyme time, story sessions, and activity-based learning.

2. Classroom Management

Maintain a positive, safe, and child-friendly environment.

Ensure routine management: attendance, settling, snack time, dispersal.

Handle children gently during crying, tantrums, or behaviour issues.

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of classroom materials.

3. Child Development & Observation

Observe each child's developmental progress.

Identify learning needs, behavioural needs, slow learners, or gifted learners.

Prepare monthly observations and portfolios for each child.

Provide support to children with social, emotional, or speech development needs.

4. Communication with Parents

Update parents politely and professionally.

Conduct PTMs and share monthly progress.

Address parent concerns with patience and positivity.

Maintain parent WhatsApp groups (updates, photos, reminders).

5. Activity & Event Management

Help plan and execute monthly themes, celebrations, and school events.

Prepare teaching aids, worksheets, craft materials.

Organize activity corners: sensory, pretend play, art, fine motor, outdoor play.

Support for annual day, sports day, field trips, and festive celebrations.

6. Daycare Responsibilities (if assigned)

Ensure safe supervision of children in daycare.

Assist with feeding, hygiene, nap time, and structured play.

Maintain daycare logbooks: entry, exit, meals, behaviour notes.

7. Professional Conduct

Follow school policies, timing discipline, dress code.

Show care, empathy, and professionalism with children and parents.

Collaborate with co-teachers, helpers, and admin team.

Attend training sessions and implement feedback.

Eligibility / Requirements

Minimum qualification: Graduate (ECE/NTT preferred).

Good communication skills (English & Hindi/Gujarati).

Passion for early childhood education.

Pleasant, patient, and child-friendly personality.

Prior preschool experience preferred but not compulsory.

Working Hours

Educators: 8:30 AM - 1:30 PM

Daycare staff: 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM (if full-day role)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹11,859.61 - ₹32,669.10 per month
