Position Overview
The Pre-Sales Engineer will play a critical role in supporting the sales lifecycle by ensuring accurate technical solutions, well-structured BOQs, timely quotations, and effective coordination across internal and external stakeholders.
This role acts as a bridge between the Sales Team, OEMs/Manufacturers, Procurement, and Project Execution teams. The ideal candidate should have strong organizational skills, a solid understanding of AV/ELV systems, and the ability to manage multiple proposals simultaneously while maintaining high levels of accuracy and responsiveness.
Key Roles & Responsibilities1. Coordination and Internal Communication
Act as a central coordination point between Sales, OEMs/Manufacturers, Procurement, and Project Execution teams.
Coordinate with manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers to obtain updated product specifications, pricing, compliance documents, and delivery timelines.
Ensure complete and accurate transfer of project requirements from sales discussions into technical proposals and BOQs.
Maintain structured documentation, email trails, and communication logs for each opportunity.
Support cross-functional teams to ensure seamless proposal preparation and timely submissions.
2. BOQ Preparation and Estimation Support
Work closely with the Pre-Sales Head to prepare detailed and accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQs) based on client requirements, tender documents, or site surveys.
Assist in preparing system designs, schematic drawings, signal flow diagrams, and connectivity layouts for AV/ELV solutions.
Collect, validate, and update product specifications, datasheets, compliance documents, and pricing from OEMs and suppliers.
Review BOQs for technical correctness, scope clarity, and commercial feasibility.
Maintain and continuously update a structured database of standard BOQs, reference designs, and price benchmarks.
3. Quotation & Proposal Management
Prepare professional and well-formatted quotation documents aligned with Elvtech's branding and commercial standards.
Assist in creating solution presentations, technical write-ups, and scope-of-work documents for client submissions.
Ensure all quotations and proposals go through internal review and approval before client submission.
Log all quotations sent to clients in the tracking system and regularly update their status.
Maintain version control and ensure clarity in scope, exclusions, and assumptions.
4. Client Follow-ups and Order Closures
Conduct timely, polite, and structured follow-ups with clients on submitted proposals and quotations.
Coordinate closely with the sales team to track negotiations, technical clarifications, and revisions.
Update CRM systems or internal trackers with real-time status of proposals, client feedback, and expected closure timelines.
Support the sales team with documentation required during order finalization, PO processing, and handover to execution teams.
5. Reporting and Documentation
Maintain detailed and accurate records of client communications, quotations, BOQs, and project-related documents.
Prepare weekly and monthly MIS reports highlighting proposal status, pending opportunities, and closures.
Track conversion ratios, proposal aging, response timelines, and follow-up effectiveness.
Support management with data-driven insights to improve pre-sales efficiency and win rates.
Key Skills & Attributes
Excellent coordination, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
Strong analytical ability with attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (advanced Excel skills preferred).
Experience working with CRM or ERP systems for opportunity and quotation tracking.
Good understanding of AV/ELV systems, products, estimation processes, and BOQ preparation.
Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and meet strict deadlines.
Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with strong team collaboration skills.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electronics, Electrical, IT, or related field).
Minimum
1 to 2 years of experience
in a Pre-Sales / Sales Support role within the AV, ELV, or System Integration industry.
Prior experience coordinating with OEMs, distributors, or technical sales teams is highly desirable.
Exposure to tender-based projects, enterprise clients, or institutional projects will be an added advantage.

Timeliness and accuracy of BOQs, drawings, and quotations.
Quality, consistency, and effectiveness of client follow-ups.
Conversion ratio of quotations to confirmed orders.
