Role Overview
As a Pre-Sales Engineer (Sales Engineer) at Simbian, you will be the technical backbone of our go-to-market efforts. You will work directly with customers--security leaders, SOC teams, and CISOs--to understand their environments, demonstrate the value of Simbian's AI SOC Agent, and design solutions that integrate seamlessly into their stack.
You will partner closely with Sales, Product, and Engineering to translate customer needs into product value and ensure successful PoCs and evaluations.
Responsibilities
Act as the primary technical point of contact in sales cycles with enterprise and MSSP customers.
Deliver compelling product demonstrations tailored to customer environments and use cases.
Lead technical evaluations, PoCs, and POVs, ensuring smooth deployment and measurable success.
Map Simbian's capabilities to customer SOC architecture, tools, and workflows (SIEM, EDR, CNAPP, ITSM, etc.).
Respond to RFPs, RFIs, and security questionnaires with accurate, detailed technical inputs.
Work closely with Product and Engineering to provide field feedback that shapes roadmap priorities.
Build reusable demo environments, integration playbooks, and success stories for scale.
Represent Simbian at industry events, conferences, and customer workshops.
Requirements
4+ years of experience in a technical pre-sales, sales engineering, or solution architecture role in cybersecurity.
Strong knowledge of SOC workflows, detection/response processes, and security products such as SIEM (Splunk, Sentinel, Chronicle), EDR/XDR (CrowdStrike, Defender, Carbon Black), CNAPP (Wiz, Prisma, Aqua), and ITSM (ServiceNow, Resilient, JIRA).
Hands-on experience with API integrations, scripting (Python preferred), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Excellent presentation, demo, and communication skills--able to engage both technical practitioners and executive stakeholders.
Proven ability to run PoCs/POVs and demonstrate measurable value.
Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-moving, ambiguous startup environment.
Nice to Have
Experience in SOC operations, incident response, or threat hunting.
Familiarity with LLMs, AI/ML, or security automation platforms (SOAR, orchestration tools).
Experience working with MSSPs or in multi-tenant security environments.
Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or cloud security certifications (AWS/GCP/Azure).
