The Vice Principal for the Pre-Primary section is responsible for the smooth academic and administrative functioning of the pre-primary wing (Nursery, LKG, UKG) of the school. This role involves supporting curriculum implementation, ensuring quality teaching and learning, managing pre-primary staff, liaising with parents, and maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for young learners in alignment with CBSE guidelines and Early Childhood Education best practices.
Key Responsibilities: Academic Leadership:
Ensure effective implementation of age-appropriate curriculum aligned with CBSE and NEP 2020 guidelines.
Support and mentor pre-primary teachers in lesson planning, pedagogy, and assessment strategies.
Monitor classroom practices to ensure child-centric, play-based, and experiential learning methodologies.
Organize regular workshops and training programs for professional development of staff.
Administrative Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day operations of the pre-primary wing.
Prepare academic calendars, timetables, and annual plans for the pre-primary section.
Maintain accurate records of students, attendance, assessments, and staff reports.
Assist in recruitment, orientation, and evaluation of pre-primary teaching and non-teaching staff.
Student Wellbeing & Safety:
Create a safe, inclusive, and emotionally secure environment for young children.
Collaborate with the school counselor to monitor and support children's developmental needs.
Ensure hygiene, health, and safety protocols are followed rigorously.
Parent Engagement:
Organize regular parent-teacher meetings, orientations, and communication updates.
Address parental concerns with empathy and professionalism.
Facilitate school events, celebrations, and cultural programs involving pre-primary students.
Compliance & Reporting:
Ensure compliance with CBSE norms and documentation related to the pre-primary wing.
Prepare reports for internal audits and school inspections.
Coordinate with the Principal and other departments for smooth functioning of the school.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Education (B.Ed. - preferably with Early Childhood specialization).
Master's degree in Education/Child Development/School Leadership is an advantage.
Minimum 5-7 years of teaching experience in Pre-Primary/Primary and 2+ years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of CBSE guidelines, NEP 2020, ECCE practices, and classroom management strategies.
