Planning and Delivering Lessons

: Pre-primary teachers are responsible for creating and implementing age-appropriate lesson plans that engage children in learning through play, songs, arts and crafts, and storytelling. These activities are designed to promote foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, and social interaction.

Creating a Safe Learning Environment

: It is essential for pre-primary teachers to establish a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment. This includes organizing the classroom to facilitate exploration and ensuring that it is free from hazards.

Encouraging Social and Emotional Development

: Teachers help children develop essential social skills, such as sharing, taking turns, and effective communication. They guide children in identifying and expressing their emotions, fostering a sense of self-esteem and confidence.

Assessing and Tracking Progress

: Pre-primary teachers regularly assess children's development and progress to ensure they meet developmental milestones. This may involve using various assessment tools and maintaining documentation of each child's growth.

Communicating with Parents and Caregivers

: Maintaining open lines of communication with parents is vital. Pre-primary teachers keep parents informed about their child's progress, any concerns, and ways to support learning at home.

Fostering Creativity and Curiosity

: Teachers promote creativity by providing opportunities for artistic expression and encouraging curiosity through exploration and discovery. They honor children's questions and guide them in finding answers.
