Keyline & Dieline Preparation
Create and adjust
keylines / dielines
for packaging, mono cartons, and labels.
Check alignment, fold, cut, and crease marks.
Ensure accuracy in dimensions and finishing elements (emboss, foil, UV, varnish).
Job Imposition & Layouts
Perform
job imposition
(step & repeat, nesting, gang-up) as per sheet size, press machine, and production requirements.
Use
CorelDraw, Adobe Illustrator, or Preps software
for imposition and layouts.
Apply trapping, overprint, and knockout where required.
CTP Operation
Operate and maintain CTP machines (Kodak, Heidelberg, Screen, Creo, etc.).
Output plates with correct calibration, dot gain control, and registration.
Color Management & Proofing
Handle color separations and check ICC profiles.
Generate digital proofs or hard proofs for client/production approval.
Coordinate with press operators for shade matching.
Quality Control
Check final imposed file for accuracy before plate making.
Reduce errors, rework, and wastage by performing proper preflight checks.
Software & Tools Usage
Work in
CorelDraw, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign
for file corrections.
Use workflow software like Esko, Prinergy, Preps, or Prinect for CTP.
Coordination
Communicate with designers for corrections and approvals.
Support production and press teams for smooth plate-to-print workflow.
Required Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of
CorelDraw & Illustrator
for keyline setting, imposition, and packaging artwork corrections.
Understanding of
dieline, bleeds, trapping, and print finishing requirements
