Job Summary

The Pre-Sales Design Engineer - Isolator Systems provides technical support to the sales team by designing, configuring, and proposing electrical isolator and disconnector solutions for LV, MV, and HV applications. The role involves understanding customer requirements, preparing technical and commercial proposals, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Support the sales team with technical expertise on

electrical isolators / disconnectors

Understand customer requirements, drawings, and technical specifications Select suitable isolator types (LV/MV/HV) based on voltage, current, and application Prepare

technical designs, layouts, and single-line diagrams (SLD)

Develop

Bills of Materials (BOM)

and cost estimations Prepare and review

technical submittals, datasheets, and compliance matrices

Respond to

RFQs, RFPs, and tenders

related to isolator systems Participate in customer meetings, technical presentations, and design reviews Ensure designs comply with

IEC / IEEE / ANSI standards

and local regulations Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams Support project handover to execution and engineering teams after order award
Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in

Electrical Engineering

or related field Strong knowledge of

isolators, disconnectors, earthing switches, and switchgear

Understanding of

LV, MV, and HV power systems

Familiarity with relevant standards (IEC 60947, IEC 62271, IEEE, etc.) Ability to read and prepare

electrical drawings and SLDs

Experience with design tools (AutoCAD or equivalent) Strong communication and customer-facing skills Ability to translate technical requirements into commercial solutions
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in

substations, solar power plants, industrial plants, or utilities

Knowledge of

outdoor & indoor isolators

(center break, double break, pantograph, vertical break) Experience with tendering and techno-commercial evaluations 3-7 years of experience in pre-sales or design engineering
