To plan, schedule, and control weaving operations efficiently to meet production targets, ensure timely delivery of fabric orders, and optimize loom utilization while maintaining quality and cost effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Production Planning
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly weaving plans based on order schedules, loom capacity, and yarn availability.
Analyze loom efficiency, fabric construction, and order priority to allocate appropriate looms.
Coordinate with the preparatory, winding, warping, and sizing departments to ensure beam availability.
2. Material & Resource Coordination :
Check yarn inventory and plan material requirements in coordination with the stores department.
Ensure timely beam loading and monitor loom performance to minimize downtime.
Coordinate with the maintenance team for loom servicing and breakdown management.
3. Monitoring & Control :
Track daily loom production (meters per shift, efficiency %, stoppage details).
Monitor WIP (warping ? sizing ? weaving ? grey inspection) and update production tracking sheets.
Take corrective actions for production delays, low efficiency, or quality issues.
4. Data Management & Reporting :
Maintain records of order-wise production, loom utilization, and delivery status.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly PPC reports for management.
Analyze production performance, capacity utilization, and waste levels.
5. Coordination with Other Departments :
Work closely with the quality, maintenance, and dispatch teams for smooth flow of fabric to finishing or processing.
Support marketing/merchandising in providing delivery timelines and production status updates.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
Diploma / B.Tech / B.Sc. in Textile Engineering or Production Management.
Experience:
2-6 years of PPC experience in textile weaving (shuttle less / air jet / rapier / waterjet looms).
Knowledge:
Loom planning and beam management
Yarn consumption and fabric construction understanding
Familiarity with ERP or PPC software systems
Skills & Competencies:
Strong planning, analytical, and follow-up skills.
Proficiency in MS Excel, spreadsheets, and production tracking tools.
Good communication and coordination ability across departments.
Problem-solving and decision-making skills under tight schedules.
Understanding of weaving efficiency parameters (EPI/PPI, picks per minute, loom utilization, etc.).
