PPC Manager Job Responsibilities

A PPC (Pay-Per-Click) Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing successful online advertising campaigns. Their primary goal is to maximize ROI (Return on Investment) for clients or their company by driving targeted traffic and conversions through paid search and display channels.

Core Responsibilities:

Campaign Strategy & Development:

Develop comprehensive PPC strategies aligned with overall marketing goals and business objectives. Conduct thorough keyword research, audience analysis, and competitor analysis to identify opportunities. Plan campaign structures, including ad groups, targeting parameters, and budget allocation.

Campaign Management & Optimization:

Set up and launch PPC campaigns across various platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising, social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn). Continuously monitor campaign performance, including bids, budgets, and key metrics (CPC, CTR, CPA, ROAS). Perform ongoing A/B testing of ad copy, landing pages, and targeting to improve performance. Implement bid strategies and adjust bids to optimize for conversions and efficiency. Manage and optimize landing pages for better conversion rates.

Keyword Management:

Expand and refine keyword lists, including negative keywords, to ensure targeting accuracy and reduce wasted spend. Analyze keyword performance to identify top performers and areas for improvement.

Ad Copy & Creative Development:

Write compelling and effective ad copy that resonates with target audiences and adheres to platform guidelines. Collaborate with design teams for effective ad creatives (images, videos) for display and social campaigns.

Reporting & Analysis:

Generate detailed performance reports, analyzing data to identify trends, insights, and actionable recommendations. Present findings and strategic recommendations to clients or stakeholders. Utilize analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) to track post-click performance and user behavior.

Budget Management:

Manage and allocate campaign budgets effectively to achieve maximum ROI. Ensure campaigns stay within allocated budgets and pacing goals.

Stay Updated:

Keep abreast of industry trends, platform updates, and new features in the PPC landscape. Identify and experiment with new opportunities and technologies to enhance campaign performance.
