Power BI Trainer - Roles and Responsibilities

Primary Role

Design and deliver high-quality training programs on Microsoft Power BI (Desktop, Service, DAX, Power Query, Data Modeling, Report Design, Admin & Gateway, etc.) to corporate employees, freshers, and professionals aiming for Power BI Developer / Analyst roles.

Core Responsibilities

1. Training Delivery

- Conduct live online/offline classroom training sessions (1-day workshops to 5-10 day bootcamps).

- Deliver public batches, corporate batches, university/college workshops, and one-on-one mentoring.

- Cover beginner to advanced/developer-level topics.

2. Curriculum Design & Content Creation

- Create and regularly update the Power BI course curriculum as per latest Microsoft updates (2024-2025 releases).

- Develop training materials: slide decks, lab exercises, datasets, projects, cheat sheets, recorded videos, quizzes, assignments.

- Design real-world business scenarios and end-to-end projects (Sales, Finance, HR, Supply Chain dashboards).

3. Hands-on Labs & Projects

- Guide trainees through 20-50+ hands-on exercises.

- Assign and review capstone projects (e.g., building an enterprise-ready Profit & Loss dashboard with DAX, row-level security, incremental refresh, etc.).

- Teach best practices and performance tuning techniques.

4. DAX & Power Query (M) Deep Dives

- Teach intermediate to advanced DAX (time intelligence, variables, CALCULATE modifiers, context transition, etc.).

- Teach advanced M (Power Query) - parameters, functions, query folding, dynamic sources.

5. Certification Guidance

- Prepare students for Microsoft certifications:

- PL-300: Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst

- DA-100 (legacy) / new exam updates

- Conduct mock exams and doubt-clearing sessions.

6. Corporate / Customized Training

- Understand client's data environment and customize content (e.g., retail client wants inventory dashboards, banking client wants risk dashboards).

- Train on Power BI administration, gateways, workspace management, security (RLS/OLS), deployment pipelines.

7. Stay Updated & Thought Leadership

- Keep track of monthly Power BI updates and include them in training.

- Optionally create YouTube videos, blogs, or LinkedIn content to build personal brand (many companies encourage this).

Key Skills & Qualifications Expected

| Optional but valued | Published books/courses, active YouTube channel or blog, contributions on Power BI Community |

- Freelance/Corporate Trainer (per month rate): ₹30,000 - ?50,000 per Month (5 Hours)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Freelance
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
