Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented

Transformer Design Engineer

with expertise in both

electrical and mechanical transformer components

,

AutoCAD

, and

SolidWorks

. The candidate will be responsible for designing, modifying, and optimizing transformer designs (distribution and power transformers), preparing detailed drawings, and ensuring technical compliance with industry and customer standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop

electrical and mechanical layouts

for transformers up to 33kV/66kV. Prepare

GA drawings, winding diagrams, core-coil assembly

, and

tank designs

using AutoCAD and SolidWorks. Select appropriate

transformer components

(e.g., bushings, tap changers, radiators, CT/PTs, conservators). Prepare

BOM (Bill of Materials)

and ensure correct component selection per application and rating. Perform

thermal, magnetic, and mechanical stress analysis

using design software and calculations. Collaborate with electrical, testing, production, and quality teams to ensure design intent is accurately executed. Provide

technical support

during manufacturing and resolve any design-related issues. Interpret and implement

IEC, BIS, and IS standards

relevant to transformer design. Assist in

custom transformer projects

, client technical queries, and proposal engineering.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in

Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

.

3-8 years

of experience in transformer design (distribution or power). Proficient in

AutoCAD

,

SolidWorks

, and relevant transformer design software/tools. In-depth knowledge of

transformer internal components

, working principles, and engineering calculations. Strong knowledge of relevant industry standards (IS, IEC, ANSI). Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred:

Experience working with

custom/special application transformers

(solar, rectifier, furnace, etc.). Exposure to

finite element analysis (FEA)

tools. Experience in interacting with

clients, vendors, and testing agencies

Pay: ₹250,000.00 - ₹350,000.00 per year
