to oversee the end-to-end logistics operations for our steel supply chain. This role is responsible for managing inbound and outbound logistics, coordinating with suppliers, transporters, and internal teams to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of steel products. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in logistics within the steel or heavy manufacturing industry, excellent organizational skills, and a solid understanding of supply chain best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, and monitor logistics operations for raw materials (e.g., coils, billets, scrap) and finished steel products.
Optimize transport routes and modes (road, rail, sea) to minimize cost and delivery time.
Oversee inventory levels, warehousing, and dispatch to ensure just-in-time (JIT) supply and avoid stockouts or overstocking.
Liaise with suppliers, transport companies, freight forwarders, and customs authorities.
Ensure compliance with all safety, regulatory, and legal requirements.
Negotiate contracts with logistics providers and monitor their performance.
Use ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) to track shipments, costs, and inventory.
Coordinate with production and sales teams to align logistics plans with business needs.
Lead and mentor a team of logistics staff, drivers, and warehouse personnel.
Prepare regular logistics performance reports (KPIs) and suggest continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or related field.
5+ years of logistics or supply chain experience, preferably in the steel, metals, or heavy industry sector.
Proven track record of managing large-scale logistics operations and teams
