Power Plant Operator
Job Title: Power Plant Operator Department: Mechanical & Engineering
Salary Range: Gross 10000 /- SCR Summary of duties: Operator operates, monitors, maintains, and repairs diesel engines. The power plant operates continuously, 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.Reports to: Engineering and Maintenance Manager/ FrigoristeDuties & Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain a PV diesel hybrid system (Genset & Solar).
• Regulates transmission loads, frequencies, and line voltages.
• Performs preventive and required maintenance and troubleshoots equipment problems; tasks may include testing auto-start features or repacking valves.
• Read charts, meters, and gauges to monitor voltage and electricity output.
• Monitor voltage and electricity flows to meet demand
• Examining equipment for operating issues
• Stop or start equipment and machines as needed
• Inspect equipment to detect malfunction.
• Perform minor repairs on equipment.
• Record instrument readings in log.
• Adjust controls to regulate the flow of power.
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain equipment such as generators, turbines, pumps, and compressors to prevent equipment failure or deterioration.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Experience, Knowledge, Competencies and Skills required:

• Post-Secondary Certification or equivalent combined with extensive on-the-job training
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• An understanding of Occupational Safety and Health
• The ability to understand, follow, and apply policies, practices, and operating procedures.
• A proven ability to work independently as well as within a team.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to maintain logs and reports.
• Work rotating 8- or 12-hour shifts.
• Must be able to work overtime, days and/or evening and weekends as demands require

Essential /Job Specific Training Required:

• Induction program covering:

1. GMP/ GHP (Good Manufacturing Practices/Good Hygienic Practices)
2. Applicable Operating Procedures for Cold Storage.The post holder may be required to perform duties other than those given in the job description for the post. Gross salary will be SCR 10,000.00 month, working 6 days a week.
