We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Power Plant Construction General
Manager to oversee all phases of a new power plant construction and commissioning
project. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader with a strong track record of managing
large-scale, complex industrial projects from inception to completion. This role requires
exceptional project management abilities, deep technical expertise in power generation
infrastructure, and the leadership skills to drive multi-disciplinary teams in a challenging
environment. The General Manager will ensure that all project objectives are achieved--on
time, within budget, and in compliance with the highest safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
? Project Leadership: Direct all phases of the power plant construction project
including planning, design, procurement, execution, and close-out.
? Budget & Schedule Management: Develop, monitor, and control the project budget
and timeline. Identify risks and implement corrective actions to achieve targets.
? Team Management: Lead, mentor, and supervise project managers, engineers,
contractors, and site personnel while fostering a culture of collaboration,
accountability, and safety.
? Stakeholder Relations: Act as the primary contact for clients, government
authorities, local communities, and subcontractors to maintain strong working
relationships.
? Quality & Safety: Implement strict quality control measures and enforce adherence
to local regulations and international safety best practices.
? Contract Management: Oversee contracts, negotiations, and compliance. Ensure
vendor and subcontractor performance meets project requirements.
? Risk Management: Anticipate project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and
resolve issues proactively.
? Reporting: Deliver regular project updates on progress, budget, schedule, and key
metrics to senior management and stakeholders.
Qualifications
? Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) or related field.
Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or Project Management
preferred.
? 10-15 years of progressive experience in large-scale construction project
management, including at least 5 years in a leadership role within power plant,
energy, or heavy industrial projects.
? Extensive knowledge of large-capacity power plants (350 MW and above),
including thermal, solar, wind, or hydroelectric systems.
? Strong technical expertise in:
o Boiler operations, steam turbines, and generators
o Control systems and instrumentation
o Electrical transmission and distribution systems
o Fuel handling and ash disposal (for thermal plants)
o Water treatment and cooling systems
o Environmental control systems (scrubbers, precipitators, etc.)
Additional Requirements
? Experience working in international or remote locations is preferred.
? PMP or equivalent professional certification is an advantage.
? Proficiency in English (both written and spoken) is required; knowledge of
Portuguese or other regional languages is an asset.

Pay: ?250,000.00 - ?500,000.00 per month
