Design and Development Leadership Lead the design and development lifecycle of critical genset peripheral mechanical components from concept through production and validation
Components include, but are not limited to: Cooling Systems (Radiators and Heat Exchangers): Optimize thermal performance and integration
Exhaust Systems: Ensure compliance with noise and emission regulations, focusing on mufflers, piping, and catalytic converters
Air Intake Systems: Design systems for optimal engine performance and filtration
Acoustic Enclosures (Canopies) and Base-frames: Develop robust, cost-effective, and noise-attenuating structures. Drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) best practices.
Approve design specifications, engineering drawings, tolerance stacks, and material selections. Oversee Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for structural and thermal integrity studies.
Application Engineering Lead the Application Engineering function for a specified genset platform range. Translate specific customer and market requirements into clear and achievable engineering design specifications.
Ensure that all platform designs are optimized for cost, performance, quality, and reliability across various operating environments and regulatory landscapes. Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to provide technical support and ensure product fit for different applications.
Team Management and Strategic Planning Mentor, manage, and develop a team of mechanical design engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
Establish departmental goals, track performance metrics, and manage resource allocation efficiently. Develop and manage the departmental budget and project timelines. Drive continuous improvement in design processes, tools, and methodologies.
Collaboration and Compliance Collaborate cross-functionally with Engine, Electrical, Sourcing, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance teams. Ensure all designs comply with relevant national and international standards (e.g., ISO, CE, UL), safety regulations, and environmental requirements.
Manage vendor relationships for component design and prototyping. Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Experience
: 10 to 15 years of relevant experience in mechanical design and development, with significant experience in the Genset/Power Generation industry.
Leadership: Proven experience in leading and managing a design engineering team (minimum 3-5 years in a managerial role).
Technical Expertise:
In-depth knowledge of IC engine packaging and integration with peripheral systems. Expertise in the design and optimization of genset peripheral components (radiators, exhausts, canopies, base-frames).
Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo) and simulation tools (FEA/CFD).
Skills
:
Strong project management, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
