Design & Development: Lead the complete mechanical design life cycle for new and existing genset models, ranging from 10 kVA to multi-megawatt units. This includes component selection, 3D modeling, 2D drawing creation, and bill of materials (BOM) generation using industry-standard CAD software ( Creo)
Genset Sub-System Expertise:
Design and optimize base frames, fuel tanks, and ISO containers/enclosures for structural integrity, vibration isolation, and manufacturability
Develop and analyze cooling systems (radiators, fans, airflow) to ensure optimal engine performance across varied ambient conditions
Design and select exhaust systems (mufflers, piping, flex joints) for efficient gas flow and compliance with noise and emission regulations
Design and implement vibration isolation and acoustic attenuation solutions to meet stringent noise level requirements
Technical Leadership & Mentoring: Act as the subject matter expert, guiding junior and intermediate engineers. Review designs, provide technical sign-off, and drive best practices in mechanical engineering
Analysis & Validation: Conduct or oversee Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations for structural, thermal, and fluid dynamics analysis of critical components and systems
Standards & Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with relevant international standards (e.g., ISO 8528, CE, UL) and environmental regulations
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with electrical engineers for control panel integration, manufacturing for design-for-manufacturability (DFM) and design-for-assembly (DFA), procurement for vendor specifications, and service teams for field feedback integration
* Project Management: Manage design tasks, timelines, and resources for large-scale projects, ensuring delivery within budget and schedule
