Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Power BI Subject Matter Expert (SME) with an understanding of the finance domain or a willingness to develop a finance knowledge base. As the Power BI SME, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining Power BI solutions to meet the reporting and analytics needs of our finance department. Your expertise in Power BI will play a critical role in transforming complex financial data into insightful visualizations and analysis.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with stakeholders from the finance department to gather requirements and understand their reporting and analytical needs.
• Design and develop Power BI solutions, including data models, reports, dashboards, and visualizations that provide actionable insights to finance teams.
• Create and maintain data connections, data transformations, and data refresh schedules in Power BI.
• Perform data analysis and validation to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data used in Power BI solutions.
• Optimize and fine-tune Power BI reports and dashboards for improved performance and user experience.
• Conduct training sessions and provide ongoing support to end-users on how to effectively use Power BI for financial analysis and reporting.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest Power BI features and functionalities, and proactively identify opportunities to leverage them in our finance reporting processes.
• Collaborate with the IT department to integrate Power BI with other systems and data sources, ensuring data consistency and reliability.
• Stay informed about industry trends and best practices related to Power BI and finance analytics and apply them to enhance our reporting capabilities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor\'s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science, Data Analytics or a related field. A master\'s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA) would be a plus.
• Proven experience as a Power BI Developer or Consultant; finance-related projects would be a plus.
• General understanding of finance concepts, financial reporting, and analysis desired but not required.
• Proficiency in developing complex data models, analyses, and visualizations using Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
• Strong knowledge of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and M Query Language.
• Experience with data modelling and ETL processes and working with large datasets.
• Familiarity with Alteryx, SQL and/or Snowflake would be a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into effective Power BI solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proactive attitude towards learning new technologies and staying updated with the latest trends in Power BI and finance analytics.
