Role Overview We're looking for a hands-on Power BI Developer to join our Visualization Center of Excellence team. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in designing, developing, and optimizing Power BI dashboards, with deep technical strength in DAX, SQL, and data modeling. This role requires an individual contributor who can independently drive end-to-end BI delivery, from requirement gathering and wireframing to backend data modeling and production deployment. Key Responsibilities o Design, develop, and deploy interactive Power BI dashboards using Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service. o Develop and maintain DAX measures, calculated columns, and KPIs to support advanced business logic and time intelligence. o Prepare wireframes and mockups to visualize dashboard layouts before development. o Build and maintain backend data models and semantic layers ensuring scalability and performance. o Develop optimized Power BI data models using best practices for relationships, hierarchies, and incremental refresh. o Create and publish Paginated Reports (RDL) for operational or detailed reporting requirements. o Write complex, performance-efficient SQL queries for data extraction, joins, aggregations, and performance tuning. o Conduct requirement-gathering sessions with business stakeholders and translate them into analytical solutions. o Deliver complete end-to-end BI solutions from data ingestion and modeling to visualization and production deployment. o Validate data accuracy, troubleshoot DAX or SQL logic, and ensure business KPIs are correctly implemented. o Contribute to and maintain Viz COE standards for visualization, performance, and design consistency. o Work independently with minimal supervision and communicate clearly across technical and business teams. Required Skills & Experience o 4-8 years of experience in Power BI report and dashboard development. o Expert-level proficiency in DAX for complex calculations, dynamic measures, and performance optimization. o Strong knowledge of Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and Power Query (M language). o Proven expertise in data modeling , both backend (SQL/BigQuery) and semantic modeling within Power BI. o Strong SQL programming skills, with the ability to write efficient, complex queries. o Experience building and publishing Power BI Paginated Reports (RDL). o Hands-on experience creating wireframes and designing dashboards that align with business narratives. o Understanding of incremental refresh, row-level security (RLS), and dataset performance optimization. o Ability to work as an independent contributor, take ownership, and deliver results with minimal guidance. Nice to Have o Experience with Looker Studio Pro / Tableau.
