Job Title: Post Design Engineer

Job Summary:



Post Design Engineer is responsible for the overall conception and execution of design projects from start to finish. This role involves working with various types of robots and automation technologies. The variety of tasks are as mentioned below:

Key Responsibilities:



1.

Post-Engineering:



o Conduct detailed engineering to ensure all aspects of the project are meticulously planned and executed.

o Ensure timely submission of General Arrangement (GA) drawings to meet project milestones and customer requirements.

o Calculations for selecting bought out parts.

o Feasibility of weld joints in simulation software - Robo Guide / Robo Studio.

o Generation of manufacturing drawings specifying all the details like - tolerances, surface finish, machining symbols etc.

o Coordinate with Design managers and clients to define requirements and deliver solutions on time and within budget.

o Identify potential risks associated with design activities and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project delays and cost overruns.

Documentation:



o Installation Commissioning Requirements Sheet - Develop detailed installation and commissioning requirements sheets to guide the implementation phase effectively.

o Pre-Trials Requirement Sheet - Define pre-trial requirements to ensure equipment readiness and optimal performance before production trials.

o Operation Sequence Documentation - Document operation sequences of machines to facilitate efficient operation and troubleshooting.

o Machine Manual Preparation - Create manuals for each machine, detail operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures.

o Project Learning Sheet - Compile project learning sheets to capture insights, lessons learned, and best practices for continuous improvement.

o Annexures for Robot, Welding machine & Control Panels - Document annexures based on the functionality of the system.

3.

Innovation and Improvement:



o Stay updated with the latest advancements in robotics and automation technologies.

o Propose and implement improvements to enhance the efficiency, capability, and safety of robotic systems.

o Foster collaboration with other departments like production, procurement, and quality assurance to streamline processes and ensure seamless project execution.

Knowledge required:



1.

Selection of Brought Out parts:



o Gear Boxes - Induction, Servo and Hydraulic.

o Hydraulics - Cylinders, motors, power packs, valves, chucks etc. (Must have knowledge of hydraulic circuits).

o Pneumatics - Cylinders, Grippers, valves, chucks, vacuum units etc. (Must have knowledge of pneumatic circuits).

o Robots / Cobot - Must have understanding of selecting the Robot / Cobot based on the applications, Simulation software (Robo Guide / Robo Studio), Welding Torch cleaning units, Stabilizer etc.

o Welding machine - Based on the application, welding torches.

o Mechanical components - Bearings, Slewing rings, Screw jacks, Ball screw, Lead screw, Fume extractor, Seam Tracker and other general sensors.

o Good knowledge of Jigs and Fixtures - Manual, Pneumatic and Hydraulic.

2.

Selection of RAW material:



o Structural members, Flats, Plates etc.

o Aluminum extrusion profiles and accessories.

o Selection of appropriate material and its grade based on application.

o Must be aware of standard sizes of Raw material available in market.

3.

Calculations:



o Deflection

o Buckling

o Torque & RPM

o Compressed air requirement

o Pressure

o Oil flow rate

o Machine Cycle time / Production rate

4.

Processes:



o Welding and welding symbols

o Machining and machining symbols

o Fabrication, manufacturing and assembly

Qualifications:



Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.

Experience:



2-3 years of experience in robotic and automation engineering.

Skills:



Strong knowledge of Solid works, welding symbols, machining symbols, GD&T.

Good English communication skills, both writing and verbal.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Salary:



As per the experience and our company standards.

Work Environment:



Majority of the work will be at the company location but, if required, need to travel to client sites or project locations.
