The Role

We are looking for a talented

POS Application Engineer

to work within the

Platform Engineering Team

, delivering first-class application and cloud infrastructure support.



The role requires a broad understanding of

in-store technologies

and

retail

, along with a results-driven attitude. Understanding

Point of Sale (PoS)

systems, their lifecycle, and the future of store technology will be highly beneficial.

This is a

fast-paced role

, well-suited for someone eager to get hands-on experience across all aspects of

Retail Solutions (Fixed PoS & Mobile PoS)

using the latest tech stack. You will be responsible for maintaining reliable service across all stores and contributing to the

DevOps culture

within the wider Platform Engineering team.

What We Need From You

To be successful in this role, you should be able to:


Support the delivery and implementation of scalable

Retail PoS solutions

and other digital initiatives - including installation, configuration, and maintenance. Create technical documentation as required. Plan infrastructure patch upgrades and configuration updates to minimize disruption. Proactively identify and resolve production and non-production application/infrastructure issues to ensure a stable, high-performance platform. Provide

3rd-line application support

and troubleshoot/resolve incidents. Influence the team's technical direction by recommending improvements to processes, tools, and techniques. Have working knowledge of

relational databases

(especially MariaDB and SQL). Demonstrate the ability to

debug applications

using logs, Windows & Linux servers, and understand basic network/infrastructure concepts. Possess experience in

configuration management

(desirable). Have

Windows Server

working knowledge (essential). Have

Linux

and

Docker

experience (desirable). Have experience with

endpoint management tools

(essential). Possess

AWS knowledge

, particularly with

Serverless services (Lambda, SQS, etc.)

(advantageous). Demonstrate scripting proficiency in

Additional Expectations

Root Cause Analysis

is a key part of this role. You should be able to provide an example of an issue where you identified the root cause and implemented measures to prevent recurrence. This is a
