Senior Portfolio Execution Manager Your Role: The newly created Group applications department within IT-Applications (IT-AF) will deliver, integrate, and maintain applications mainly sponsored by Merck Enabling functions (HR, Procurement, Legal, Site Management, Strategy, Tax, IT, MBS & others), at global and local level. The Group Applications Portfolio Execution Manager is responsible for managing, tracking, and reporting on the department budget and spending, with a focus on external contracts and personnel. The main activities involve accounting and controlling of technical projects and services for the department. The role includes the maintenance of budget, planned & committed costs, control of actual spent, all executed timely to provide an accurate and adjusted quarterly forecast. You will collaborate with the department head, managers, controllers, project leaders, procurement and purchasing vendor management office, when needed, external vendors. You will manage contract and consulting spend which includes maintain IT-AF Runbook for all running external contracts, prepare quarterly financial forecasts and budget planning, track actual spending against plan and manage deviations monthly, manage SOW and purchase requests approvals, including signature collection, trigger purchase requests for contract renewals and new demands. In addition, you will be tracking personal costs globally. You will also prepare FTE quarterly financial forecasts and budget settings, manage the false employment cases towards SOP compliance. Being also responsible for the IT-AF Core projects, you will manage them from submission to closure with regular tracking and quarterly forecasts, allocation of internal and external labors, maintenance of cross charges. When required, you may be asked to prepare IVC presentation and deliver on the required business cases, reviewed with controllers. For Long-range planning, you will deliver 5-year cost projection with regards to Group Apps related cost based on the latest application roadmap. Who you are: You hold a Master degree in Economics, with specialty in Controlling and/or Accounting Deep understanding of financial processes (planning, forecasting, deferrals, accruals, ) Experience in project lifecycle management in PPMC or similar tool Good understanding of Purchase to Pay process (PR/PO creation, accounts payable) Experience in license management Advanced Excel skills With more than 7 years of professional experience, you can work under pressure during forecast submission time, meeting deadlines with high quality results Knowledge in following tools would be a plus: Ariba & SAP ERP (PR creation, PO confirmation, invoice approval, project actualsreport), HP PPMC (project portfolio management tool), PowerBI (project reporting), AdobeSign (e-signature), Fieldglass (external resources via Gulp/Randstadt), LeanIX Fluent in English, German is a plus What we offer: We are curious minds that come from a broad range of backgrounds, perspectives, and life experiences.
