JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES: Working with businesses, CG\'s mission is to mobilise transformative global demand for zero-emission vehicles in the long term. CG works with key stakeholders across the technology, policy and investment landscape, to drive this systemic change across different elements of the EV ecosystem in India. CG wishes to fill the vacancy for Policy Officer, Transport (PO-T) in the India Office. This is an exciting role, responsible for executing CG\'s transport projects and supporting the development of EV100 and EV100+ in India. The PO-T shall drive CG\'s work on national and sub-national EV policy and facilitate engagement with companies having business operations in India, to cohesively expand the strategy for transitioning to electrified and clean transport. CG is accelerating the push towards India\'s transport decarbonization by building ambitious coalitions and networks for faster action. A key element in this push is to generate demand signals for electric vehicles, to tap the huge potential for curtailing emissions. The PO-T\'s role shall be to support the delivery and expansion of CG\'s evolving EV100 and EV100+ initiatives, as well its wider body of transport-focused work. Reporting to the Manager, Transport, the PO-T shall encourage businesses to pursue more ambitious outcomes for the EV100 and EV100+ initiatives and drive action by addressing emission-intense technological challenges, implementing scalable business models, publicizing best practices, and informing policy. S/he shall consolidate progress being accomplished in the current phase and develop and deliver further opportunities. The PO-T shall also be responsible for maintaining close working relationships with corporates aligned with the ambitions of EV100 and EV100+. S/he will also work closely with colleagues within CG \'s wider systems and communications teams, as well as international offices and partner organisations, worldwide. Key Job Responsibilities: (A) Project Coordination and Management: (1) Work with the transport team and facilitate delivery of the Electrification of Medium and Heavy-duty Vehicles Project in India by engaging with companies, and governments and executing strategies that support the achievement of project outcomes; (2) Contribute to leveraging existing international partnerships, campaigns, and networks of CG to achieve the policy objectives of the project; (3) Showcase key industry leadership at Climate Week NYC and other critical industry events such as COP, Clean Energy Ministerial, and others; (4) Liaise with internal stakeholders such as global functional teams, including Programs, Communications, Fundraising, and Finance, as may be needed under the project with clear objectives, scope, outcomes, and deliverables; (5) Support the team in member company engagement and preparation of monthly and quarterly operational plans with goals and strategies; (6) Contribute to internal organizational knowledge through market research and communications pieces such as articles and blogs. (B) Communications and Events: (1) Work flexibly with India and global teams to contribute to the delivery of project meetings, workshops/ conferences, events, and other communications; (2) Ensure effective representation at external platforms and the proper communication of programs, and their impact through articles, blogs, Twitter feeds, LinkedIn, etc., with inputs from the India/ Global Communications teams. (C) Other Responsibilities: (1) Contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of projects and programs; (2) Undertake other related tasks (including administration), as well as learning and development programs undertaken by the organization, for individual growth and the success of projects. 4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCIES: Qualification: Applicants must have relevant professional qualifications in energy systems, environment or climate policy, development economics, sustainability, public affairs, or equivalent. Experience: (1) Demonstrated experience of working with government agencies, research organizations, civil society, NGOs, or industry associations/ chambers; (2) Understanding of the role of NGOs and corporations in transforming policies and markets to address climate change; (3) Experience of working with international colleagues across multiple time zones; (4) Knowledge of project management software like Salesforce/ FinancialForce; (5) Experience in stakeholder management and a track record of project delivery, including managing partners and organizing events; (6) Experience working with the Indian private sector. Skills and Competencies: (1) Commitment to the mission of CG ; (2) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including fluent written and spoken English; (3) Basic understanding of climate issues and transport decarbonisation; (4) Ownership and Team Spirit; (5) Program Development and Strategy; (6) Ability to do research, synthesize information, and incubate new ideas; (7) Attention to detail and strong analytical skills; (8) Proactive and able to work independently and unsupervised to deliver tasks and achieve project objectives; (9) Competent user of MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). 5. COMPENSATION OFFERED: Gross compensation budgeted for the position ranges from INR 10,16,100 to 11,72,499 per annum, based on experience. Please note that the offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and salary history.
