Educational Qualification:



Postgraduate or Graduate degree

in

GIS and Remote Sensing Technology

or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution.

Experience Requirements:



Minimum

5 years of experience

in the

infrastructure sector

, preferably in urban development or regional planning.

Must have worked on

at least 2 projects

involving

GIS-based master planning

or

site planning

for:

o

State / Central Government Agencies



o

Urban Local Bodies (ULBs)



o

International Funding Institutions (IFIs)

(e.g., World Bank, ADB)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Review & Assessment

Review all existing

GIS work completed or ongoing

for the employer (e.g., government agency or urban authority).

Prepare a

status report/working paper

outlining current progress, data gaps, and improvement areas.

2. GIS System Development & Implementation



Lead the

design, development, and deployment

of a comprehensive

GIS database and mapping system

for the project.

Create an

as-built asset database

covering all relevant infrastructure components.

Design and implement a

systematic update mechanism

for asset mapping and spatial data over the project lifecycle.

3. Reporting & Documentation



Prepare and submit a detailed

GIS Report

covering:

o Spatial data integration

o Asset inventory mapping

o Recommendations for updates and integration with MIS/other systems

4. Project-Wide GIS Strengthening



Oversee the

implementation and strengthening

of GIS systems across all relevant project components and departments.

Ensure consistency in spatial data standards, map formats, and database structures.

Provide training/support to internal teams or departments to enhance

GIS usage and maintenance

.

Key Skills & Tools:



Proficiency in

GIS software

such as:

o ArcGIS / QGIS

o AutoCAD Map 3D

o ERDAS Imagine or other Remote Sensing tools

Experience with

spatial data analysis

, asset mapping, and geo-database development.

Ability to integrate GIS with other platforms (e.g., MIS, BIM, CAD tools).

Familiarity with

urban infrastructure planning

as-built documentation

3. Procurement & Bid Process Support



Assist in the

preparation of tender documents

4. Budgeting & Cost Control



Monitor project budgets, control expenditures, and ensure

6. Quality Assurance
