Verify quantity, condition, supplier details, artwork version, and batch/lot details.
Ensure segregation of
primary, secondary, and tertiary
packing materials.
Ensure immediate
quarantine labeling
until QA approval.
GMP & GDP Compliance:
Maintain GMP-compliant storage areas with proper segregation and labeling.
Ensure strict control to avoid
mix-ups, mislabeling, and cross-contamination
.
Maintain housekeeping, pest control, and safety in PM store areas.
Inventory & Stock Control:
Maintain accurate inventory records in ERP/manual systems.
Follow
FIFO / FEFO
during issuance.
Monitor stock levels, reorder points, and shelf life of packing materials.
Conduct periodic physical stock verification and reconciliation.
Issuance & Traceability:
Issue packing materials only against approved indents / BPRs.
Ensure issuance of correct
artwork, version, and product-specific material
.
Maintain full traceability of PM from receipt to issuance.
Documentation & Records:
Maintain inward/outward registers, stock cards, temperature & humidity logs.
Ensure proper documentation for QA review and audit readiness.
Maintain retention samples of printed packing materials as per SOP.
Handling Rejected, Obsolete & Returned Materials:
Segregate and control rejected, obsolete, or damaged packing materials.
Coordinate with QA for destruction, return, or revalidation.
Control and document artwork changes and obsolete material disposal.
Audit & Regulatory Support:
Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits (WHO, CDSCO, State FDA).
Ensure PM store readiness and compliance during inspections.
Implement corrective actions from audit observations.
Team Management & Training:
Supervise PM store staff and ensure SOP compliance.
Conduct GMP, data integrity, and safety training.
Maintain training and competency records.
Safety & Artwork Control:
Ensure secure storage of printed packing materials.
Implement access control for high-risk items (labels, foils, cartons).
Prevent unauthorized access and usage of PM.
Qualifications:
Education:
Graduate (B.Sc / B.Com / B.Pharm preferred)
Experience:
5-10 years
in Pharmaceutical Stores / Warehouse
(Minimum
3-5 years
handling Packing Materials)
Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of GMP & GDP for PM storage
Expertise in artwork and version control
Inventory management and ERP handling
High attention to detail and compliance orientation
Leadership and coordination skills
Preferred Industry Exposure:
Pharmaceutical Formulations / API / Nutraceuticals
