Installation:

Install, repair, and replace pipes, fittings, and fixtures such as sinks, toilets, showers, and water heaters.

Maintenance:

Conduct regular maintenance on all plumbing systems to prevent issues and ensure they are running efficiently.

Troubleshooting:

Diagnose and repair problems, such as leaks, clogs, and pipe bursts, often on an emergency basis.

System upkeep:

Maintain and repair water, heating, and drainage systems, including those for laboratories or specialized equipment.

Safety and compliance:

Ensure all work complies with plumbing codes and regulations.

Record-keeping:

Maintain logs of work performed, materials used, and time spent on jobs.

Inventory and ordering:

Manage an inventory of parts and supplies, reordering as needed.

Skills and qualifications

Technical skills:

Proficiency in reading blueprints, using plumbing tools, and understanding plumbing, heating, and drainage systems.

Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities to address issues effectively.

Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, sometimes in cramped or difficult-to-reach areas.
