Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Install, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, fittings, and drainage systems. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout of plumbing systems. Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe to required angle using hand and power tools. Assemble and install piping sections and secure them in position. Test plumbing systems for leaks using pressure gauges or other equipment. Install plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, water heaters, and bathtubs. Follow safety protocols and comply with building codes and regulations. Inspect systems and components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair. Coordinate with contractors and other construction professionals. Maintain tools and equipment in safe and operational condition.

Qualifications and Skills:

High school diploma or equivalent; completion of apprenticeship program preferred. Valid plumbing license or certification (varies by location). Proven experience as a plumber or pipe fitter. Knowledge of water distribution and disposal systems, as well as heating and ventilation systems. Familiarity with plumbing tools and equipment. Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints. Physical strength and stamina to lift heavy materials and work in cramped conditions. Good communication and problem-solving skills.
