Role Overview
As a Senior PLC Programmer, you will be responsible for designing, programming, and maintaining advanced automation systems tailored to the dairy industry. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver customized solutions, ensure seamless integration, and provide technical expertise on-site when required. This role demands strong technical skills, leadership qualities, and a commitment to maintaining high standards in project execution.

Key Responsibilities

PLC Development: Design, program, and configure PLC systems (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, etc.) to meet project specifications. SCADA & HMI Integration: Develop SCADA and HMI systems for real-time monitoring and process control. On-Site Support: Provide flexibility to work on project sites for system installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting. System Optimization: Analyze and optimize automation systems for reliability, efficiency, and scalability. Documentation: Prepare detailed technical documentation, including wiring diagrams, system configurations, and logic programs. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve automation-related technical issues to minimize downtime. Team Collaboration: Coordinate with engineering, project management, and client teams to deliver tailored solutions. Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety standards, regulatory requirements (HACCP, GMP), and industry best practices. Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and team members.
Qualifications

Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical, Electronics, Automation Engineering, or a related field. 3-6+ years of experience in PLC programming and industrial automation, preferably within the dairy or food processing sector. Proficiency in programming languages like Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and Function Block Diagram. Expertise in PLC platforms such as Siemens S7/TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley ControlLogix/Studio 5000, and Schneider EcoStruxure. Hands-on experience with SCADA/HMI platforms (e.g., Ignition, WinCC, Wonderware). Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, OPC-UA). Ability to interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical drawings. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Preferred Skills

Familiarity with IIoT solutions and Industry 4.0 technologies. Experience with motion control systems, robotics, and VFD integration. Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, VB, or C# for advanced system integration. Exposure to lean manufacturing principles and process optimization techniques.
