Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs and modifies software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked, cloud-based or Internet-related computer programs. Code may be used in commercial or end-user applications, such as materials management, financial management, HRIS, mobile apps or desktop applications products. Using current programming language and technologies, writes code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging of applications. Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance. May interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications.

Role Overview:
We are seeking flexible, self-starting engineers who thrive in dynamic environments and are excited by the challenge of transforming complex healthcare workflows into elegant, cloud-native solutions. This role is part of a global initiative to modernize Availity's platform capabilities across Premium Partner Services, Clearinghouse Operations, and Trading Partner enablement.
You'll work on cutting-edge technologies including API development, EDI modernization, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Robotic Desktop Automation (RDA), and real-time data streaming--contributing directly to the transformation of healthcare interoperability.
Key Responsibilities:Design and develop scalable microservices and APIs for healthcare data exchange. Modernize legacy systems into event-driven, cloud-native architectures. Build and optimize data pipelines for real-time interoperability and analytics. Collaborate with U.S.-based teams to deliver partner-centric solutions across ePRO and Clearinghouse domains. Implement automation solutions using RPA/RDA to streamline operational workflows. Participate in agile ceremonies, code reviews, and cross-functional collaboration.

Required Skills & Experience:3-7 years of experience in software engineering, preferably in healthcare or enterprise platforms. Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful API development. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), Docker/Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and data streaming. Exposure to EDI transactions, FHIR, or other healthcare interoperability standards. Experience with RPA/RDA tools (e.g., UiPath, Automation Anywhere) is a strong plus. Ability to work across multiple technologies and adapt quickly to new challenges. Excellent communication skills and ability to work across global teams.

Preferred Qualifications:Experience working in a distributed team across time zones. Passion for innovation, continuous learning, and solving complex problems. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools like Jira, Confluence, GitHub.
