We're looking for a

hands-on technical leader

to help architect, build, and scale a modern fintech platform from the ground up. This role sits at the heart of product and platform engineering, combining

deep technical ownership

with

team leadership

and

delivery excellence

You'll work closely with product, design, and business stakeholders to shape core systems, guide engineers through complex problem-solving, and ensure the platform is secure, scalable, and production-ready from day one.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys

writing and reviewing code, making architectural decisions, mentoring engineers, and owning outcomes end to end

What You'll Be Responsible For

Platform & Product Engineering

Lead the design and development of core fintech systems and services.
Own technical architecture decisions with a focus on scalability, performance, and reliability.
Translate business and product requirements into clean, extensible system designs.
Drive best practices across APIs, data models, integrations, and backend services.

Technical Leadership & Execution

Guide engineers across the full development lifecycle--from design and implementation to deployment and monitoring.
Review code regularly and raise engineering quality through standards, patterns, and feedback.
Identify technical risks early and lead resolution of performance, stability, and production issues.
Balance speed and quality while delivering high-impact features and platforms.

Team Growth & Culture

Mentor and coach engineers to grow technical depth and ownership.
Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Support hiring, onboarding, and development of engineering talent.
Lead by example with strong technical contributions and decision-making.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Business leaders.
Participate in roadmap planning and technical prioritization.
Ensure engineering execution aligns with business goals and customer needs.

What We're Looking For

Experience & Background

7+ years of experience in backend or platform engineering.
Prior experience leading teams or acting as a technical lead for complex systems.
Strong hands-on expertise with

Java

and

Spring / Spring Boot

.
Experience building systems in

product-driven, high-growth, or fintech environments

.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

Technical Strengths

Strong foundations in

object-oriented design, data structures, and system design

.
Experience designing scalable, production-grade backend services.
Comfort working in ambiguous problem spaces and building systems from scratch.
Solid understanding of engineering trade-offs and long-term platform thinking.
