We are looking for a talented IDP Tools Engineer to design develop and optimize our Internal Developer Platform IDP tools and solutions As part of our platform engineering team you will play a key role in building and supporting a unified developer centric platform that empowers engineering teams to access manage and deploy their services with minimal friction Your work will help accelerate development cycles improve developer experience and create scalable tools that integrate various systems across our organization

Key Responsibilities:

Design develop and maintain Internal Developer Platform IDP tools ensuring they meet the needs of engineering teams Build and enhance self service capabilities such as resource provisioning CI CD pipelines and service management within the platform Integrate multiple tools and services e g Git Jenkins Kubernetes Helm etc into a unified developer experience Ensure platform tools are highly scalable available and meet security and performance standards Automate manual processes and remove friction from the development lifecycle by creating easy to use interfaces and automation workflows Work closely with development teams to identify pain points and implement solutions that improve productivity and reduce complexity Continuously optimize platform tools for performance security and developer experience Work with engineering security and DevOps teams to ensure that IDP tools meet all operational and security requirements Collaborate with cross functional teams to design and integrate new features and services into the IDP ecosystem Provide documentation and training to help engineering teams adopt platform tools effectively Monitor platform performance gather feedback and iteratively improve the tools to address evolving needs Stay updated on emerging trends in platform engineering and developer productivity continuously improving IDP capabilities Ensure a smooth developer experience through proactive problem solving debugging and technical support

Technical Requirements:

Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience 8 years of experience in software engineering DevOps or platform engineering with a focus on IDP tools or developer productivity platforms 3 years of experience with DevOps CI CD Terraform Kubernetes Docker Jenkins Service Mesh Cloud DevOps Automation AWS Azure GCP 2 years of experience and proficiency in IDP toolsets such as Backstage Humanitec Port Cortex or other similar platforms Strong programming scripting skills in languages such as Python Go JavaScript or similar Experience with CI CD tools like Jenkins GitHub Actions GitLab CI or similar Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes for service orchestration Experience with Infrastructure as Code IaC tools such as Terraform CloudFormation or Ansible Strong understanding of cloud platforms like AWS Azure or GCP

Additional Responsibilities:

Experience with observability tools e g Prometheus Grafana Datadog to monitor platform usage and performance Experience with security best practices in a developer platform context e g role based access control token management Familiarity with Agile methodologies Scrum Kanban and working in cross functional teams
