Astellas' Global Capability Centres - Overview

This position is based in Bangalore, India, and will require working from the office a minimum number of days per week, as agreed upon with the business leader.

Purpose and Scope:

As a Platform Engineer of a team of individuals in a specific area of digital expertise, you will be a crucial player in driving our digital initiatives forward in our agile organization. Our agile operating model consists of two components - Digital Capability and Digital Execution. Digital Execution is about aligning multiple missions around business goals and facilitating collaboration on a larger scale.



Digital Capability, on the other hand, will focus on the growth and development of individuals within a specific area of expertise. This dual structure enables us to scale agile practices efficiently while maintaining a focus on both product development and individual skill enhancement.



An Enterprise Business Platforms Engineer focuses on the development, deployment, and integration of software platforms that support our business processes and operations. This role involves a blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and a deep understanding of the specific platforms that drive business functions such as CRM (Customer Relationship Management, Sales Force, Veeva), ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning such as SAP), and SCM (Supply Chain Management) and Clinical, Patient Safety, Quality Management Solutions. The goal is to ensure these platforms are optimized to support business goals, enhance efficiency, and drive growth.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Platform Development and Configuration: Design, develop, and configure business platforms to meet the specific needs of our organization. This could involve programming, configuring settings, and integrating various software solutions.



System Integration: Ensure seamless integration between different business platforms and systems (e.g., integrating CRM and ERP systems) to enhance data flow and business processes.



Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Regularly monitor the performance of business platforms, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to improve efficiency and user experience.



User Support and Training: Provide technical support to platform users, resolve issues, and conduct training sessions to ensure users can effectively utilize the platforms.



Initiative Execution: Actively participate in and contribute to various initiatives, applying your specialized skills to achieve the objectives and expected Value. Contribute to the ongoing realization of Value from these enterprise platforms through continuous integration and deployment.



Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members within the subdivision and across other digital and business units.

SAC Developer is responsible for the gathering of SAP requirements and specifications, analyzing, designing, documenting, coding, testing, configuring, deploying, implementing, and maintaining systems and applications



Participate and collaborate with the users, business analyst, quality assurance/quality control analyst in the gathering of user requirements and specifications



Participate and conduct feasibility study, research, and development, prototyping and proof of concept (PoC) in implementing new/existing systems, solutions, and processes



Participate in the technical and project documentation such as but not limited to functional, system and technical design, requirements, and specifications for SAP BW/HANA & SAC topics.



Create test scenarios and data and conduct or participate in non-functional and functional testing (e.g., unit testing, system testing, integration testing, etc.)



Defines Data Visualization solution approach, develops systems requirements, designs, and prototypes proof of concept approach, testing and training. Defines support procedures. Provides process expertise and solutions in SAP Business Intelligence Reporting and Visualization and non-SAP tools



Develop and review codes, programs, and configurations to verify consistency and conformance with established programming and industry standards, guidelines, policies, and practices



Conduct incident and problem analysis, data gathering, investigation and resolution of issues, and provide technical consultancy, assistance, and support



Deliver the required systems/applications/solutions on time and based on agreed budget and specifications



Identify, assess, and recommend opportunities for application and process improvement



Provide regular and effective progress updates to the project manager/team lead/supervisor/immediate manage



Develop, customize, enhance, fix and maintain codes, applications and systems and Specify security requirements and approaches to data for adherence

Required

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in computer science, engineering or information systems, or STEM Degree



Overall 5-8 years of experience in SAP BW/HANA/ABAP and SAC . 3-5 years of inclusive experience in SAC , SAC Planning, S/4HANA Analytics .



Experience in integrations with S4HANA and SAP BW4HANA ,BW on HANA and with Non SAP systems



2-3 full life cycle end to end implementations experience with BW Reporting, Extraction and Modeling



Expert level experience in SAP data warehousing solutions with SAP BW/4HANA for both modelling and scripting including ability to write complex stored procedures and various replication methods to HANA or BW



Expert working experience in ABAP skills like Start, End, Expert, Field level Routines, custom built Extractors & Debugging skills and experience in design and develop end to end data flows for BW/HANA



Experience in working with ADSOs (all types), composite providers, BeX query and all info providers available in SAP BW/HANA ,HANA views, AMDP procedures, ABAP-OOPs, and hybrid architecture



Architectural knowledge of deployment modes of various SAP Analytics solutions (Cloud, On-Premise, Hybrid)



Working Knowledge of connectors like SDA/SDI ,Exposing models or queries as OData for external consumption and Consuming external APIs into BW models.



Good knowledge of latest trends in Analytics space including platforms and solutions from other vendors



Proven work experience on mixed modelling with BW/4HANA and HANA native modelling



Hands-on experience in S/4HANA Analytics like building and extending CDS Views, Creating Query Views or Building KPIs using KPI Modeler



Hands-on experience in advanced analytics domain like Predictive Analytics or SAC Smart Features, SAC Application Designer is a plus



Knowledge of development on HANA 2.0 like HANA XSA Development, NodeJS or ABAP development will be plus



Hands on knowledge of related planning solutions like BPC will be preferred



Experience with reporting tools - SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) with live and import connection, Analysis for Office (AFO)



Proven experience in working with BW models in HANA Studio such as Composite providers, Advanced DSOs, Open ODS views



Experience in ABAP programming skills and SQL Skills

Ability to adapt to fast paced environment and handle multiple tasks at a time and self motivated to learn advanced technologies



Demonstrate BW and BPC experience, including experience in various Data and Analytics solutions based on AWS and Azure



Proven experience in implementing SAP SAC in a multinational environment
