Job Summary

A Plastic Moulding Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining plastic injection moulding machines to ensure smooth production of high-quality plastic components. The operator ensures machines run efficiently, meets production targets, and follows all safety and quality standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesMachine Operation

Operate injection moulding machines and auxiliary equipment. Set up moulds, load materials, and start production cycles. Adjust machine settings such as temperature, pressure, and cycle time as required.

Quality Control

Inspect finished parts for defects like short shots, flow marks, warpage, flash, etc. Ensure products meet dimensional and visual quality standards. Maintain documentation of quality checks.

Production Monitoring

Monitor machine parameters and troubleshoot minor issues. Ensure continuous and smooth production with minimal downtime. Handle material refilling and colour mixing when required.

Maintenance & Housekeeping

Perform basic preventive maintenance tasks such as cleaning hoppers, filters, and mould areas. Report machine faults, maintenance needs, and breakdowns to supervisors/engineers. Keep the working area clean and organized.

Safety & Compliance

Follow all safety guidelines, including PPE usage and machine safety protocols. Handle hot moulds, materials, and machinery safely. Maintain accurate production and downtime records.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Proven experience as a plastic moulding/injection machine operator (preferred). Understanding of injection moulding processes and materials (PP, HDPE, ABS, etc.). Ability to identify defects and perform basic troubleshooting. Physical stamina to handle machine operations and manual tasks. Basic understanding of measurements (vernier calliper, scale, etc.). Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.

Education

10th / 12th pass preferred. ITI in Fitter / Machinist / Plastics or similar is an advantage.

Work Environment

Factory / shop-floor setting. Rotational or fixed shifts depending on company requirements. Standing for long hours and lifting moderate weight material bags.
