Supervise daily production and packing activities to ensure processes run smoothly and efficiently. Plan and organize workflow, assign tasks, and manage production schedules to meet targets and deadlines.
Quality Control & Compliance:
Monitor production processes to ensure strict adherence to product specifications, quality standards, and all relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., HACCP, GMP, environmental regulations). Maintain rigorous record checks and documentation for audits.
Safety & Maintenance:
Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures, promoting a culture of safety within the team. Coordinate with the maintenance department for equipment breakdowns and schedule regular preventive maintenance to ensure optimal equipment condition.
Team Leadership & Development:
Lead, mentor, and coach plant personnel, including new employee orientation and ongoing training programs. Address employee issues, resolve conflicts, and conduct performance evaluations.
Inventory & Resource Management:
Monitor and control material usage and in-process inventory levels, coordinating with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure adequate raw materials are available.
Reporting & Improvement:
Collect and analyze production data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement. Prepare reports on performance, progress, and efficiency for management and implement continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean Manufacturing principles).
Qualifications & Skills
Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent is generally required, with an associate's or bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field often preferred.
Experience:
Typically requires 2-5+ years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment, with at least some experience in a supervisory or leadership role. Experience in seafood or food processing is a plus.
Technical Skills:
Knowledge of production processes, quality control methodologies, safety management systems, and manufacturing software/tools (e.g., ERP systems, MS Office).
Soft Skills:
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are essential. The role also requires excellent communication, organizational, and team-building abilities, along with adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
