Job Summary

The Welder / Fitter is responsible for fitting, welding, fabrication, installation, and repair of metal structures, machinery parts, and pipelines to ensure safe and efficient plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

Perform welding operations (ARC / MIG / TIG / Gas welding as applicable) Carry out fitting, alignment, and assembly of mechanical parts Fabricate and repair structures, frames, platforms, and pipelines Read and understand fabrication drawings and measurements Cut, grind, and finish metal parts as per specifications Attend to mechanical breakdowns and perform repair works Ensure welding quality and dimensional accuracy Follow safety procedures and use PPE during welding and fitting work Maintain welding machines, tools, and consumables Support preventive maintenance and shutdown activities

Qualifications & Experience

ITI / Trade Certificate in Welder / Fitter 1-5 years of experience in industrial welding and fitting Welding certification (preferred) Skills & Competencies Knowledge of welding techniques and equipment Ability to read drawings and take accurate measurements Knowledge of safety practices and fire precautions Basic knowledge of gas cutting and fabrication tools Good teamwork and communication skills Preferred Experience Experience in manufacturing / heavy engineering plants Knowledge of structural fabrication and piping works Experience in shutdown and maintenance activities Working Conditions Plant / workshop-based role Shift duties and Rotational shifts Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
