, ensuring efficient production, preventive maintenance, warehouse management, quality compliance, cost control, and strong leadership across all plant functions. The role requires deep hands-on experience in plastic manufacturing operations and the ability to drive productivity, safety, and continuous improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Production Management
Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily production activities to meet output, quality, and delivery targets.
Ensure optimal utilization of machines, manpower, and materials.
Monitor production KPIs such as efficiency, downtime, scrap rate, and yield.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
Ensure adherence to production schedules and customer commitments.
2. Maintenance & Engineering
Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of all plant equipment, moulds, utilities, and machinery.
Ensure minimum breakdowns and reduced downtime through effective maintenance planning.
Coordinate with engineering teams for machine upgrades, new installations, and process optimization.
Maintain spare parts inventory and maintenance records.
3. Warehouse & Inventory Management
Oversee raw material, packaging, and finished goods warehouses.
Ensure proper inventory control, stock accuracy, FIFO/FEFO practices, and minimal material losses.
Coordinate with procurement and logistics to ensure uninterrupted production flow.
Ensure proper storage conditions and material handling practices.
4. Leadership & People Management
Lead, mentor, and manage production, maintenance, warehouse, and support teams.
Ensure proper manpower planning, shift scheduling, and performance management.
Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, discipline, and continuous improvement.
Conduct regular training and skill development programs for plant staff.
5. Quality, Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with quality standards, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
Enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies.
Lead internal audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure safe working conditions and zero-accident culture within the plant.
6. Cost Control & Reporting
Control manufacturing costs including labor, energy, maintenance, and material wastage.
Prepare and present production, maintenance, and operational reports to management.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost-reduction initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in
Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering
, or related field (Master's degree is an advantage).
15-20 years of experience
in plastic manufacturing operations.
Strong background in
production, maintenance, warehouse, and plant operations
.
Experience managing large teams and multi-shift operations.
Hands-on exposure to
injection moulding / blow moulding / extrusion
(as applicable).
