Job Description

The

Plant Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring optimal functioning of all plant machinery, equipment, and facilities to support smooth production. This role involves planning preventive and predictive maintenance, conducting root-cause analysis, and integrating smart technologies to maximize uptime and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Strategy & Planning

Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for plant machinery. Oversee spare parts inventory management and cost-effective procurement. Ensure minimal downtime and prompt resolution of breakdowns.

Team Leadership & Skill Development

Lead, train, and mentor the maintenance team (mechanical, electrical, utility, automation). Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous learning.

Technical Oversight

Monitor performance of critical assets (pressing, coating, assembly, heating systems, etc.) Conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions. Approve equipment calibration and statutory inspections.

Operational Excellence

Collaborate with production teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency. Drive lean maintenance initiatives and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) programs. Support Industry 4.0 integration (IoT sensors, smart monitoring tools, digital dashboards).

Compliance & Documentation

Maintain structured records for audits (ISO, BIS, environmental, safety). Ensure all maintenance activities comply with legal and corporate standards

Criteria Description

Education

B. Tech/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering

Experience

8-15 years in maintenance for home appliances or discrete manufacturing

Technical Skills

Hands-on with utility systems, automation, PLC, HVAC, and enamel coating

Digital Tools

Familiar with CMMS, SAP PM, and Industry 4.0 platforms

Soft Skills

Strong team leadership, analytical thinking, and structured communication
