Job Title

Plant Head - CRGO Steel Manufacturing / Processing

Location :Vadodara

Reporting To :Managing Director

Role Objective

To lead end-to-end plant operations for CRGO steel processing, ensuring world-class quality, safety, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery while driving continuous improvement and compliance with industry standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & Production

Overall responsibility for

CRGO processing operations

(slitting, cutting, annealing, lamination, coating, packing). Achieve production targets with optimal utilization of men, machines, and materials. Ensure adherence to

CRGO-specific process controls

to maintain magnetic properties (core loss, permeability).
Quality & Compliance

Ensure compliance with

IS / IEC / ASTM standards

relevant to CRGO. Minimize defects such as burrs, edge damage, waviness, and coating issues. Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for customer complaints and internal rejections.
Maintenance & Engineering

Oversee preventive and breakdown maintenance of critical equipment (slitting lines, shears, annealing furnaces). Improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime through TPM and predictive maintenance practices.
Cost & Productivity

Control manufacturing costs, yields, and scrap levels (critical in CRGO). Implement Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives. Monitor and improve KPIs: OEE, yield, energy consumption, and conversion cost.
Safety & Environment

Ensure strict compliance with

EHS norms

, statutory requirements, and safe work practices. Foster a strong safety culture across the plant.
People Management

Lead and develop production, quality, maintenance, and support teams. Build succession planning and skill development programs for CRGO operations.
Customer & Vendor Interface

Coordinate with transformer manufacturers and OEM customers for quality and delivery expectations. Work closely with CRGO raw material suppliers and service vendors.
Qualifications & Experience

Education:

B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Metallurgical, Electrical, or Production Engineering (MBA preferred).

Experience:

8 to 12 years in manufacturing, with

minimum 7-10 years in CRGO steel processing or transformer core industry

. Strong hands-on exposure to CRGO material handling and quality preservation.
