About the Role
A well-established packaging manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Plant Head - Blown Film Extrusion to lead end-to-end plant operations at its Daman facility.
This role requires strong technical knowledge of blown film extrusion, including material recipe understanding and sourcing capability aligned with different film philosophies.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Operations
Overall responsibility for blown film extrusion operations
Achieve production targets with optimal efficiency and minimal wastage
Monitor machine performance, manpower deployment, and shift planning
Drive productivity, OEE, and process improvements
Material Recipe & Formulation (Critical)
Understand and define raw material recipes based on film requirements
Hands-on knowledge of LDPE, LLDPE, HDPE, metallocene grades, and additives
Ability to align material combinations with different film philosophies:
Clarity
Strength
Cost optimization
Performance-specific applications
Conduct material trials and stabilize formulations
If not directly formulating, must know the right sources:
Polymer suppliers
Compounders
Technical service providers
Quality, Safety & Compliance
Ensure consistent film quality and process stability
Maintain safety standards and statutory compliance
Coordinate with QA for corrective and preventive actions
People Leadership
Lead and manage ~100 plant employees
Develop supervisors and operators through training and mentoring
Maintain strong shopfloor discipline and safety culture
Cost Control & Reporting
Monitor raw material consumption and production costs
Reduce rejection and wastage
Prepare regular performance reports for management
Experience
8-15 years in blown film extrusion
3+ years in a leadership role (Plant Head / Production Head / Operations Manager)
Experience managing medium-sized manufacturing units
Must-Have Skills
Strong blown film extrusion process knowledge
Clear understanding of material recipes and formulation logic
Exposure to polymer grades, additives, and material trials
Hands-on, ownership-driven mindset
Location
Willingness to work in Daman (mandatory)
