Chemical Manufacturing (Insulating Varnishes & Resins)
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable
Plant Assistant
to support the full operational management of our chemical manufacturing plant specializing in insulating varnishes, wire enamels, and resins. This is a key leadership role that requires a well-rounded understanding of plant processes, team coordination, compliance, and reporting. The candidate will work closely with all departments and report directly to the company owner.
Key Responsibilities:
Plant Operations Management:
Supervise and coordinate day-to-day operations across production, maintenance, quality control, logistics, and raw material handling.
Technical Oversight:
Ensure efficient manufacturing of varnishes and resin-based products, including batch planning, raw material optimization, and reaction monitoring.
Team Coordination:
Liaise with department heads including Production, QA/QC, R&D, Safety, Stores, and Dispatch to ensure smooth operations.
Compliance & Safety:
Enforce safety protocols, environmental regulations, and chemical handling procedures in line with statutory norms and internal standards.
Inventory & Procurement:
Coordinate with the purchase department for raw material planning and monitor stock levels of chemicals, packaging, and finished goods.
Quality Assurance:
Oversee product quality parameters, testing cycles, and ensure adherence to B-class, F-class, and H-class varnish specifications.
Maintenance Supervision:
Monitor the upkeep of plant equipment, reactors, mixers, and utility systems to minimize downtime.
Production Reporting:
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production and efficiency reports for review by the Owner.
Vendor & Client Coordination:
Collaborate with suppliers, transporters, and sometimes customers for on-ground plant coordination and query resolution.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify areas for process improvement, cost-saving, and productivity enhancement.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering / Industrial Chemistry or equivalent
Minimum 5-10 years experience in chemical manufacturing (preferably varnish, resins, enamels, or paints)
Strong knowledge of reactors, solvents, polymer chemistry, and batch processing
Proven experience managing cross-functional teams in a plant setting
Working knowledge of ISO standards, MSDS, and regulatory audits
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems
