Job Description

We are seeking an experienced

Planning Manager

from the apparel/export industry to oversee production planning, capacity management, and workflow optimization. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, leadership ability, and a proven track record in managing planning functions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Budget Planning & Cost Management

Define and manage the operational budget to align with production goals and cost constraints. Monitor expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Time & Motion Studies & SOP Development

Conduct time and motion studies to determine optimal workflow and establish Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all processes.

Production Process Analysis

Map and analyze production workflows to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies. Proactively recommend improvements to streamline operations.

Efficiency and Resource Optimization

Develop and implement methods to enhance efficiency, reduce operational costs, and optimize material, manpower, and machinery utilization. Conduct capacity planning for machinery and manpower to meet production targets .

Line Performance Monitoring & Workload Balancing

Monitor daily line performance, balance workloads, and ensure smooth allocation of job cards. Adjust priorities in response to urgent orders and maintain production continuity .

Cross-Functional Coordination

Collaborate with production, planning, quality, materials, and other teams to ensure seamless workflow and resource alignment .

Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement

Drive continuous improvement initiatives including Lean, Kaizen, 5S, and other industrial best practices to boost productivity and quality .

SMV Calculation & Monitoring

Calculate, monitor, and update Standard Minute Values (SMV) for each style to support capacity planning .

Reporting & MIS

Prepare detailed productivity, efficiency, and capacity utilization reports (MIS) for management review .

Training & Staff Development

Train production staff on SOPs, best practices, efficiency techniques, and continuous improvement methodologies.

Production Ownership

Take full ownership of production planning and control, ensuring timely delivery, quality compliance, and customer satisfaction.
