The Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling project schedules to ensure timely execution of project activities. The role involves coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, performing progress tracking, identifying delays, proposing mitigation plans, and preparing regular project reports
Duties
Develop and update project schedules using Primavera P6 / MS Project.
Create WBS, estimate activity durations, resources, and sequencing.
Monitor progress against baseline and prepare weekly/monthly reports.
Identify critical activities, delays, risks, and recovery actions.
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and subcontractors.
Perform schedule risk and delay analysis, including EOT support.
Plan and optimize manpower, equipment, and material resources.
Ensure schedule compliance with contract and project requirements.
Qualifications & Skills
Education
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
Experience
2-8+ years of experience in project planning (construction).
Hands-on experience with MS Project & Primavera P6 (mandatory for most industries).
Experience in delay analysis and claims (preferred).
Technical Skills
Primavera P6, MS Project
MS Excel (advanced).
Understanding of project management concepts and critical path method (CPM)
Soft Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication and reporting skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Team coordination and stakeholder management
