Planning Engineer - Interior Fit-Out (Commercial Projects)

Job Purpose:

The Planning Engineer will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules for

commercial interior fit-out projects

. The role requires strong knowledge of project planning tools (especially

Microsoft Project - MSP

), coordination with site teams, and ensuring timely delivery of projects within cost, quality, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Scheduling

Prepare detailed project schedules, timelines, and resource allocation plans using

MSP

. Define milestones, deliverables, and sequencing of activities for interior fit-out works. Develop weekly and monthly look-ahead programs aligned with baseline schedules.

Monitoring & Control

Track project progress against the baseline schedule. Identify delays, risks, and variances; recommend corrective actions and recovery strategies. Coordinate with procurement, design, and site teams to ensure timely availability of materials and drawings. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly project progress reports.

Onsite Coordination

Work closely with execution teams to align site progress with planned schedules. Participate in site meetings and provide planning inputs. Ensure coordination between

civil, MEP, and interior works

in the overall schedule.

Client & Stakeholder Management

Present project updates, recovery plans, and look-ahead schedules to clients and consultants. Maintain clear communication with all stakeholders regarding timelines and deliverables.

Documentation & Compliance

Maintain proper documentation of schedules, revisions, and approvals. Support the project team in ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Proficiency in

MS Project (MSP)

; Primavera knowledge is a plus. Strong understanding of

interior fit-out processes

for commercial spaces (offices, retail, hospitality, corporate). Good analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and coordination abilities. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering / Architecture / Project Management.

4-8 years of experience

in planning and scheduling, with at least

3+ years in commercial interior fit-out projects

. Proven hands-on experience in using

MSP

for project planning.
