Educational Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (B.E./B.Tech - Civil) or Diploma in Civil Engineering
Project management certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, CAPM) will be an added advantage
Experience Requirements
4-6 years of relevant experience as a Planning Engineer in the construction or infrastructure sector
Strong exposure to project planning, scheduling, and coordination
Hands-on experience with planning and scheduling software
Working knowledge of budgeting, cost control, and financial planning
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & Scheduling
Prepare detailed project schedules, timelines, and execution plans using standard planning tools
Develop Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and conduct critical path analysis
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and site teams to align activities with project plans
Ensure timely achievement of project milestones
Progress Monitoring & Reporting
Track project progress against planned schedules and identify deviations
Conduct regular reviews to highlight delays, risks, and bottlenecks
Prepare progress reports, dashboards, and presentations for management and stakeholders
Use KPIs and performance indicators to evaluate project performance
Budgeting & Cost Control
Work closely with the Quantity Surveyor Engineer (QSE) for cost estimation and budgeting
Monitor project expenditures and implement cost-control measures
Perform variance analysis and prepare budget forecasts
Support financial planning throughout the project lifecycle
Cash Flow Management
Prepare and monitor project cash flow statements and payment schedules
Coordinate with finance teams for timely fund utilization
Track receivables and payables to maintain smooth cash flow
Implement financial controls and reporting systems
Required Skills & CompetenciesTechnical Skills
Proficiency in MS Project, Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject, or similar tools
Strong command of MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Good understanding of construction methods, contracts, and procurement processes
