for the position "Ship Newbuilding Planner". Candidate should have shipbuilding experience only.
Develop comprehensive project schedules and execution plans based on project specifications, technical documents, and contract requirements.
Prepare work breakdown structures (WBS), detailed activity lists, milestone schedules, and critical path analyses for newbuilding projects.
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure realistic planning and alignment of timelines.
Develop, implement, and maintain progress measurement systems and tracking tools for ongoing shipbuilding projects.
Monitor the progress of engineering deliverables, procurement activities, fabrication, outfitting, and commissioning to ensure planned progress is achieved.
Identify deviations, analyze variances, and propose corrective actions to maintain schedule performance.
Prepare and update periodic progress reports, dashboards, and schedule performance summaries for internal management and clients.
Maintain accurate records of resource plans, schedule baselines, revisions, and supporting documentation.
Provide timely updates on planning and scheduling forecasts.
Participate in planning review meetings and highlight schedule risks, bottlenecks, and mitigation strategies.
Develop yard-level resource plans, including manpower, equipment, and facility loading based on the overall project execution plan.
Identify planning- and scheduling-related risks at the earliest possible stage.
Raise concerns regarding potential delays and collaborate with stakeholders to implement mitigation strategies.
Support scenario planning and schedule impact assessments for change orders or unforeseen delays.
Perform any additional tasks related to planning and control as assigned by the Planning Manager or senior management.
Educational Background / Experience:
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 5 year of experience in a shipyard environment, preferably in shipbuilding, ship repair, conversion, or offshore projects.
Prior experience in project planning, scheduling, or production control will be considered an added advantage.
Proficient in scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6.
Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Basic proficiency in AutoCAD for interpreting engineering drawings.
Solid understanding of shipbuilding processes and marine industry technical terminology.
