Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Piping Hydraulics Engineer to join our team in Borivali, Mumbai. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in piping network design, hydraulic calculations, and simulation modelling using industry-standard tools. The role will involve creating detailed hydraulic models and equivalent circuit representations of piping systems in large-scale commercial and industrial facilities, including data centers, district cooling systems, and chilled water networks.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and simulate 1D/2D equivalent hydraulic models of complex piping networks using tools like AFT Fathom, Pipe Flow, PipeNet, FlowNex, or equivalent.
Perform hydraulic sizing calculations for pipes, pumps, valves, reservoirs, and other components.
Interpret and develop P&IDs, process flow diagrams (PFDs), flow schematics, and detailed 2D AutoCAD drawings.
Work on projects involving data centers, district cooling systems, secondary fluid systems, and other HVAC/process piping applications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop optimized fluid network layouts and resolve technical challenges.
Support the team in piping stress analysis using software like Caesar II (preferred but not mandatory).
Generate engineering reports, simulation summaries, and technical documentation.
Ensure design compliance with relevant codes, standards, and client requirements.
Educational Qualification:
B.Tech./M.Tech./PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or a relevant engineering discipline.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience in piping network design and hydraulic modelling.
Software Proficiency (at least one required): o AFT Fathom o Pipe Flow Expert o PipeNet o FlowNex (Experience in multiple tools will be a strong advantage)
Technical Skills: o Hydraulic and thermal design of piping systems o Component sizing (pipes, pumps, valves, etc.) o Piping layout design and optimization o Reading and interpreting P&IDs, PFDs, and schematics o Experience in 2D AutoCAD o Familiarity with piping stress analysis using Caesar II (advantageous)
