We are market leader in oil and gas processing specializing in facilities design, implementation on and operational assistance for natural gas, conventional and heavy oil projects. Our clients include several of the largest oil & gas producers in Canada and worldwide, and we are currently executing a wide range of sweet gas, sour gas, conventional oil, heavy oil facility and pipeline projects.

Job Summary:

The Piping Designer will support the design and layout of piping systems for oil & gas facilities and EPCM projects. The role involves preparing 3D models in CADWorx/Plant 3D, developing piping drawings and isometrics, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to meet project requirements. The candidate should have strong knowledge of AutoCAD, piping codes and standards, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while providing guidance to junior designers.

Key Responsibilities

Preparation of 3D models using CADWorx/Plant 3D software. Preparation of design drawings such MFD's, PFD's, P&ID's, Plot Plans, Piping General Arrangements. Equipment Layouts and Isometrics. Bill of materials generation. Review of drawings and designs for accuracy, completeness, and consistency. Participate in internal and external 30/60/90 model reviews. Adherence to electronic filing system, folder structure and file management. Regular meetings with the Piping Design Led to ensure all project requirements are being met. Effectively communicate the status of tasks, design changes and continuous improvement items to the rest of the design team. Maintain proficiency with the most up to date software. Develop mutually beneficial relationships with team members and project personnel. Leadership, mentorship, and coordination of junior to intermediate design and drafting personnel. Overall coordination of a team of Piping Designers. Mentorship and training of junior 3D design drafting personnel. Project coordination for drafting and design including input on schedules, man hour estimates and scope of work documents. Monitoring and review of P&ID's, 3D Piping/Equipment/Structural and isometrics.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

EPC work experience is an asset. Experience working on North American projects is an asset. Design layout of Piping systems. Preparation of 3D models using CADWorx/Plant 3D software. Preparation of design drawings for the various disciplines in the company, including Process, Piping and Mechanical. General training and guidance of design drafting personnel. Extensive knowledge of Plant 3D, specifically piping and equipment modules Proficient with AutoCAD Knowledge of piping codes and standards like ASME, API etc. Fundamental computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel Solid understanding of the oil and gas industry with EPCM design experience. Highly motivated team player with excellent communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.

Educational Qualification:

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering or ITI Draftsman. 5+ years of experience preferably in EPCM / Oil & Gas / Petrochemical.
