Job Summary:
The Piping Fabrication Design Engineer will be responsible for the design, detailing, and layout of piping systems for mechanical and construction projects. The role includes preparing fabrication drawings, material specifications, and ensuring that all designs comply with project and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and review piping layout and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD or similar design software.
Prepare isometric drawings, GA drawings, and material take-offs (MTOs).
Design and check pipe supports, spools, and fittings as per project requirements.
Coordinate with mechanical, civil, and structural teams to ensure proper integration of piping systems.
Interpret P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) and convert them into fabrication drawings.
Ensure designs meet codes and standards such as ASME, ANSI, API, and ASTM.
Support shop fabrication teams by providing technical guidance.
Conduct site visits for measurement, inspection, and modification verification.
Prepare and maintain all design documentation and revision records.
Assist in cost estimation and material selection for piping projects.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
